Previous appointments as Director of Centres of Entrepreneurship at Birmingham City University and at University of Bedfordshire, Head of Economic Development, London Metropolitan University. Add to that 15 years of experience in industry and public sector.
  • Established the first Centre for Entrepreneurship Research at the University of Essex in 2005, now a vibrant focal point for research and knowledge transfer projects and activities focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, technology-based entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, regional development, and public policy (see sections on publications, knowledge transfer, doctoral supervision income generation and attached document on ‘Publications, etc.’); - now renamed the Venture Academy
  • Established the first set of PhD programmes in Entrepreneurship and Business Administration at Essex Business School
